Golden Words of Encouragement

Heralded as the “Prince of Preachers,” Charles Haddon Spurgeon has led tens of thousands to trust Christ for their eternal salvation and has left a treasure trove of sermons and writings that continue to touch his readers. In his lifetime he preached over 6,000 sermons without repeating one. Yet every sermon had only one theme: Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Experience Spurgeon’s gift for yourself with Morning by Morning—the powerfully crafted daily devotional written to enlighten, encourage, strengthen, bless, change, and teach you.

Biography by award-winning journalist and biographer, Rod Thomson.

“Charles Spurgeon is the world’s greatest divine. His life contains so much that is strange, unusual, wonderful, and even truly miraculous that it will require most careful statement and most conservative reasoning to convince the reader that the record is literally true.” — Russell Conwell, author of Acres of Diamonds

Morning by Morning is the companion volume to Evening by Evening. These devotionals continue to be the most sought after of Spurgeon’s published works.
  • Over 1400 new scriptural references and notes
  • Topical index that will lead you to Spurgeon’s biblically based advice on practical subjects
  • Sequential index from Genesis to Revelation accompanying each day’s Scripture

About the Author

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834–1892), the "Prince of Preachers," preached his first sermon at age sixteen and became a pastor at age eighteen. Spurgeon drew large crowds and built the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London in 1861 to accommodate them. He published over two thousand sermons; his inspiring and challenging messages comprise the largest collection of work by a single author. Spurgeon preached to an estimated ten million people during his lifetime, including notables such as the prime minister of England, members of the royal family, and Florence Nightingale. He appealed constantly to his hearers to move on in the Christian faith, to allow the Lord to minister to them individually, and to be used of God to win the lost to Christ. In addition to his powerful preaching, Spurgeon founded and supported charitable outreaches, including educational institutions. His pastors' college, which is still in existence today, taught nearly nine hundred students in Spurgeon's time. He also founded the famous Stockwell Orphanage.
